WNGGA MEMBERSHIP

One of the nicest things about life membership in The Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association is the happy feeling of belonging. If you are not already a member, you are missing out on one of the joys of life.
For more than seventy-five years our premier Welsh-American organization has safeguarded and nourished the best of the famed singing traditions of Wales.
In the written constitution, we are informed that The Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu is dedicated "to preserve, develop and promote our Welsh religious and cultural heritage, including, but not limited to the Gymanfa Ganu, literature, and all religious and cultural traditions, and to do all such things necessary and proper to accomplish and enhance the same."
Life membership is made available to any person of Welsh lineage, or any person or organization in full sympathy with the stated purposes of the Association. Once your application has been accepted, whether you live in a tiny hamlet or in a large city, you will never be far from the considerations and the many kindnesses of the president, the executive officers, the board of trustees and the impressive roster of members. You will become a member of a very large family. You will feel the warm ingredients of the Welsh "hwyl," with the live and pulsating influence of the Cymric homeland developing in your new interest.
Your membership and interest are wanted in the Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association. The cost of Individual Life Membership, $150.00 U.S. (One Hundred-Fifty Dollars) or individual Annual $10.00 (Ten Dollars) is quite reasonable when compared with the range of escalating costs all around us. And the almost minimal expense ensures your association with a prestigious organization. Mail your check NOW.
Membership will bring you messages, newsletters (HWYL) and directives from Dr. John Ellis, Executive Director. You will be able to participate in the discussions at the annual general meeting and enjoy voting rights. Also, there will be invitations from sponsoring organizations inviting your attendance at the annual Gymanfa Ganu festivals.
At the annual festival (in a different city each year), you will hear the thrilling sounds of Wales, as best exemplified by many of the finest singers from the United States and Canada. You will enjoy hearing some of the famous prize winning choirs from Wales.
There will be the lively wit and the subtle humor of the Noson Llawen (Happy Evening), Awr y Plant (Children's Hour), the excitement of the Eisteddfod (singing, poetry, and literature competition), and other fresh innovations, along with the two Sunday sessions entirely devoted to the inspiring exercise of Welsh hymn-singing. (If you cannot sing through the medium of the Welsh language, don't be discouraged as phonetic hymnals will help you.)
Although The Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association has functioned for more than 75 years, it is still regarded as a growing organization. This is best understood in the light of the resurgence of interest in things Welsh and the scope of its many influences throughout North America, embraced with the desire of our young people to come within closer range of their heritage.
Each and all of us who are members join in assuring you the happy feeling of belonging. Welcome to The Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association.
